SHARJAH TEAM TO FIELD THREE BOATS IN 2026 AS TRASK JOINS WYATT AND ARAND
F1H2O

Friday, March 27: Sharjah Team have announced they will be expanding their driver ranks for the 2026 season to allow them to field three boats for all the year's Grand Prix. Rusty Wyatt and Stefan Arand will return as lead drivers and will be joined by new teammate Grant Trask, with Filip Roms retained as a reserve driver.

Wyatt and Arand managed to propel Sharjah Team to a second place finish in the 2025 F1H2O Teams World Championship, losing out on the top-spot to fellow Emirati-based Victory Team. Meanwhile, Trask’s strong performances in 2025 helped his former Team Sweden take third in last year’s rankings.

After a dream Championship start with a win in the inaugural Grand Prix of Indonesia - a repeat of his 2024 breakout win in Indonesia in his first ever F1H2O race - Wyatt lost momentum after failing to finish races in Shanghai and Jeddah. A set of podium finishes in the season’s other Grand Prix delivered an overall third place finish in the Drivers World Championship for the Canadian, one place below his second place finish in 2024.

Sharjah Team also triumphed at the other end of the season, when Arand achieved his first ever Grand Prix win on home turf at the closing race in Sharjah, demonstrating the immense potential of the Championship’s youngest driver. A season of consistent results, including a breathtaking performance in Shanghai where numerous skillful overtakes saw him rise from a nineteenth starting position to a fourth place finish, meant the Estonian came fourth in the 2025 Championship, far surpassing his rookie season’s tenth-place finish in 2024.

With the addition of Trask, Sharjah Team are gaining a driver on a firm upward trajectory and brimming with confidence following his first two podium finishes – a third place at the Grand Prix of Shanghai, and second place at the Grand Prix of Sharjah. With results proving his ability to compete at the very top of the sport, Trask bolsters a Sharjah line-up which this year will be hoping to make the next step up and claim Teams' World Championship glory for the first time.
