Wednesday, November 12: American racer Brent Dillard announced today that he is back in training and planning to return to the China CTIC Team for the Road to Sharjah-Grand Prix of Sharjah on December 19th-21st.
Dillard underwent spinal surgery in April and his place in the team was taken by Grant Trask in Indonesia and Kyle Maskall at the two Chinese races in October. German driver Stefan Hagin will step in for the Canadian in Saudi Arabia at the end of this month.
“Today was a huge day for myself,” said Dillard. “I’m back. Thanks to my father Steve for being patient and letting my body heal. I feel amazing. Also, thanks to David Moore for spending a week with me and getting me back on the water. The next race will be Sharjah, the final round of the UIM F1H2O World Championship.
“Thanks to my team for still believing in me. The next 30 days, I will be training in the boat as much as possible. There were times when I doubted if today was going to be possible. But I had the best spinal surgeon in the world”
