Saturday, June 15: Inclement weather conditions have forced H2O Racing and UIM officials to delay the two Sprint races at the Regione Sardegna Grand Prix of Italy on Saturday afternoon.
Strong gusting winds forced UIM Commissioner Luis Ribeiro to make the decision to delay the start of Sprint race one to potentially 17.00hrs on Saturday afternoon with a further review possible at that point if the wind has not dropped sufficiently to enable the race to begin safely.
The blockbuster line-up for the first of the two 23-lap Sprint races features man of the moment Rusty Wyatt, defending World Champion Jonas Andersson and championship leader Erik Stark at the front of the nine-boat qualifying list. Stefan Arand lined up in fifth, followed by Sami Seliö, Marit Strømøy, Ben Jelf, his team-mate Duarte Benavente and Maverick Racing’s Cédric Deguisne.
