Saturday, August 22: Peter Morin and China CTIC Team have announced that the two parties have parted ways, and Morin will no longer feature as the team’s driver. Morin started in the first race of this season in Cagliari with China CTIC Team, before being absent for the latest Grand Prix in Kyrgyzstan. Offered to return for the upcoming Grand Prix of Shanghai, the Frenchman instead opted to part ways.
Morin competed in 44 Grand Prix over nine seasons for China CTIC Team, achieving ten podium finishes across Sprint Races and Grand Prix races in the process. In his statement, Morin paid homage to the team and the trust they put in him, thanking “the entire staff, and [Team Manager] Eric Chan in particular”. Morin mentioned the 2023 season with the team “as a particularly intense highlight, marked by my taking third place in the Drivers’ World Championship”.
China CTIC Team will imminently announce who will replace Morin as their lead driver, alongside Brent Dillard.
