Thursday, August 6th – Even before the chequered flag had fallen on the inaugural F1H2O Grand Prix of Kyrgyzstan, the future of the event was already taking shape.
On Sunday, race day, H2O Racing CEO Raimondo di San Germano and Aibek Abylkasymov, President of the Kyrgyz Powerboating Federation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) confirming their commitment to organise the 2027 F1H2O Grand Prix of Kyrgyzstan. The event will once again be staged on the breathtaking waters of Lake Issyk-Kul, during the same period of the year.
The agreement crowns an extraordinary debut for the UIM F1H2O World Championship in Central Asia. The 2026 Grand Prix proved to be a resounding success, attracting huge crowds throughout the weekend and generating tremendous enthusiasm among fans, local communities and international visitors alike.
The event was officially inaugurated by President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, highlighting the importance of the Grand Prix not only as a major sporting event but also as a symbol of regional cooperation and international visibility.
Beyond the spectacular racing, visitors were treated to an outstanding programme of concerts, cultural performances and entertainment activities that transformed the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul into a vibrant celebration. The combination of world-class powerboat racing and a festival atmosphere created an unforgettable experience for spectators and competitors alike.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reflects the strong partnership established between H2O Racing and the Kyrgyz Powerboating Federation and confirms their shared ambition to make Kyrgyzstan a long-term fixture on the UIM F1H2O World Championship calendar.
