Friday, February 24: H2O Racing founder Nicolò di San Germano chaired the official drivers’ briefing that preceded the first extra free practice session for this weekend’s Kopiko Grand Prix of Indonesia on Lake Toba.
Nicolò di San Germano said: “It is fantastic to be here at the start of a new era for power boating after Covid. It is many years we have been aiming to come here and we are grateful to the government of Indonesia, who have selected a beautiful area of tourism development for this race. I don’t think its coincidence that Toba is an anagram of boat! It’s fitting that we have a race on Lake Toba.”
Race director Luis Ribero gave a detailed briefing on the race course, the safety and medical plan and a description of the race course, which is positioned in an area of deep water, up to 170 metres in places, on Lake Toba.
Extra free practice starts at 11.00am local time (04.00hrs CET) on Friday morning.
