DUARTE BENAVENTE is the most experienced driver in the F1H2O World Championship, having entered over 180 Grand Prix across his twenty-seven seasons in F1H2O.
Benavente’s story in competitive racing started back in 1991, when he started competing in the Portuguese F4 Championship, gaining eight titles, later competing and winning the Iberian F4 title, alongside European and World F4 titles. Having shown his racing pedigree, he made the step up to F1H2O at the Grand Prix of Portimão, Portugal in 1999, and has been racing in the Championship ever since.
The Portuguese’s first podium came in 2002 with third place in Stralsund in Germany, and he soon after earned his best ever finish the following season when he finished second in the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi. Overall, he has six career podiums, his last being in Portimão in 2017.
