THANI AL QAMZI is a veteran of the tour with 138 race starts since his first event in Sharjah in 2000 and last year enjoyed one of his strongest seasons picking up a win and three podiums to finish as the world number 3.
He has won eight Grand prix with a total of 38 career-podiums, his first coming in 2003 finishing second in Germany. He enjoyed his best season in 2009 when he finished runner-up in the World Championship to his now team boss Guido Cappellini when he scored 143 points, with a victory in Portimao, Portugal, and six podiums during the campaign.
