FRANCESCO CANTANDO is a seasoned campaigner who currently has the second highest points tally of current drivers in the series with 924.5 since making his debut in Wuxi, China in 1996.
In his 22 year 174 Grand Prix career the charismatic Italian has come agonisingly close to lifting the world title twice, missing out by two points in 2000 and by three in 2001, also taking the runners-up slot in 2004. He has won 12 Grand Prix, reached a further 30 podiums and started from pole position four times.
From competing in and winning the Italian A1 Championship in 1991, then lifting European and World titles in T400 in 1995, his breakthrough in F1H2O came in 2000, taking his first win in Poznan, Poland and first Pole Position in Sharjah as he challenged for the title.
